Dr Hennes and his family Dr. Hennes is a native of Southern California. He graduated magna cum laude from Chapman University, received his dental degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry and completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Washington, Seattle. He resides in San Diego with his wife and two children where he has been in the exclusive practice of orthodontics since 1988. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontists, a distinction held by only 25% of orthodontists nationally. This Board Certification signifies a unique achievement, a large step beyond the two to three years of advanced education required for a dentist to become a specialist in Orthodontics. Board Certification is a 5 to 10 year process requiring great preparation and the completion of three phases of the exam process.

Dr. Hennes has co-authored several orthodontic research papers.. He is active in numerous community organizations and local elementary school dental screenings. His hobbies include bicycling and tennis.
